Allison Cedeno on Oil and Gas Industry Leaders Podcast – OGIL041
Great interview! I really appreciate Allison’s responses and encourage her to continue the fight. I served some time in the oil field both drilling and production and have a couple of comments. First, women could absolutely do most of anything I experienced on a production rig. I am sure that women could make a big impact on the industry given the chance. That being said, I also would be concerned with women on a drilling rig. The physical aspect could cause major concerns for safety. There are women big enough and strong enough to handle it just as there are men who are too weak or small to muster the needed strength but most couldn’t do it safely. So, as usual there are great opportunities and not so great opportunities in this industry for women. I think the bigger challenge is how difficult it is for lots of men to work with a female and not let their hormones interfere where women are much stronger in being able to control it. Really a great interview!
